Facial Fillers
Injectable fillers are a great, non-invasive solution to the ever-present problem of gravity. As we get a little less young, our bodies do not produce as much collagen. Believe it or not, we also lose fat in our faces, causing the skin to be less tight and create folds or creases. Tightening the skin with procedures such as a face lift, are not always the best option. In many cases, creating more volume under the skin is a more natural and appropriate method to eliminating facial wrinkles. Typically, there is little to no downtime with injectable fillers. The most common side effects are redness, minor swelling and bruising. Following the pre and post-procedure instructions will assist with keeping these side effects to a bare minimum.
Worried about the pain of a needle? Don’t be! Dr. Farbod provides patients with a topical numbing cream to apply before their appointment. If applied as directed, patients will experience little to no discomfort. Dr. Farbod and his staff are also prepared with ice packs in-hand to minimize any potential swelling. Heading back to work or to pick up the kids from school? Feel free to bring your make-up to apply directly after your procedure to minimize anyone from noticing. Dr. Farbod will also send you home with fresh ice packs to use in the car before resuming your normal day-to-day activities.
Radiesse®
Radiesse is an injectable dermal filler used to relieve wrinkles and facial folds such as nasolabial folds It is also used to add volume to areas that have become depressed or hollow, such as cheeks and under the eyes. Radiesse is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin by stimulating your body to produce new collagen. This facial filler contains microspheres made of a natural material called Calcium Hydroxylapatite in a water based gel carrier. Although treatment effects will differ for each person clinical studies have found results typically last six month, but can last up to a year or more. Evaluating your medical history and medications, Dr. Farbod will discuss the possible side effects of Radiesse injections during your initial consultation. The most common side effects are redness, bruising, or swelling, however these side effects generally last for a short time and are mild in nature.
Juvederm®
Juvederm is another injectable filler used by Dr. Farbod. Juvederm is FDA approved and in most cases, results last up to one year. Juvederm includes hyaluronic acid, a natural complex sugar that bolsters skin elasticity. Juvederm produces a smooth and supple appearance, and therefore Dr. Farbod typically uses it for lip augmentations. The small particle size allows fine lines and creases to be addressed, while also appearing natural. It is biocompatible to supplement the body’s natural hyaluronic acid that is often hindered with age. Six to nine months after injected, the biocompatible compound is naturally absorbed into the body.
Fat Injection
Fat injections can be an effective way to reduce wrinkles, diminish acne scarring and regain a more youthful appearance. By injecting your own fat harvested from your own body. Dr. Farbod can enhance facial fullness, fill deep creases, soften facial creases and wrinkles, plump lips and build up shallow contours.
While fat injections do not stop the aging process, facial augmentation with your fat may help delay the need for more invasive procedures, such as a face lift, forehead/eyebrow lift or other types of surgery. Fat injections are also a beneficial addition to other cosmetic surgery procedures.
